I suppose for this particular thread I'll focus on childhood cartoons that I grew up with on TV, pre-internet somewhat, when not too many homes had personal computers or much online of interest. 

One cartoon that I really liked was X-men in the early 90's, of course it was really basic stuff back then, as compared to now, but it was new and exciting sorta stuff in those days.

Like everyone I went to school with at that time, the majority of us had Wolverine as our favorite superhero, but some friends liked Cyclops more from what I recall.

Mostly I think it was just the attitude and how the characters looked and acted with their powers, which was why it was one of my favorite cartoons back then. 

More or less I enjoyed the Marvel universe over the DC one, maybe it was due to the amount of characters and interaction, so just personal preference and such.
 

I'll let some other people answer towards their favorites, rather then give just a list of superheros I can recall.
