So here is my hack idea so far when I start figuring out how to exactly do it and have enough helping hands so it can actually be released fairly quickly and so we could actually do a continuation series of different games which is something I think every gamer would want to experience.

So the story is how you are either:
1) A boy
2) A girl
3) A scientist
4) A grunt

The first game will take place in the Kanto region with a whole new massive map which brings in the Johto region as well after you beat the first half of the game.(That is right this will be a hack where you have 4 different stories for 2 different regions!) Depending on what character you choose you will have a little different scenarios and possibly different quests.

So in this game you either choose the Good or the Evil side
Boy and Girl would be good.
Scientist and Grunt would be evil.(May not have girl sprites for this one because I do not think a hack could handle that)

If you choose good you will have to battle through all 8 gyms and become the champion.
If you choose evil you will make your way to the top of Team Rocket by completing missions.

Now for Good Story starters it would most likely be: Poliwag, Machop, and Growlithe.

For the Evil Story starters would most likely be: Rhyhorn, Grimer, or Scyther.

So if you choose Good and have a Machop as a starter you would be facing the Evil main story character's Grimer.

That's right not only will the Good Story be facing all the gyms and trying to become champion but side quests go with the main quests of the Evil story starters and visa versa! Except depending on which character you choose you will have to face different elemental gyms and if you are playing the Evil story you are required to steal 1 of each gym's Pokémon to hand to Giovanni! However, that means you are able to keep 1 gym leader's Pokémon to yourself which will be a random gym so make sure you choose carefully! Oh and also I should mention when it is time to face Giovanni for the Leader spot of team rocket he will use the 6 Pokémon you turn in (They will be automatically leveled up accordingly and evolved to the final evolutionary stage).

Now by the end you either become Pokémon champion or you become the head of team rocket which goes straight into the next part of this game!

Now the Johto region characters you choose from is the same but different sprites(That is right you start from scratch!):
1) A boy
2) A girl
3) A scientist
4) A grunt

Now you start completely over but the characters remain the same. So in other words the Grunt that in the first half became the leader of team rocket is the head of team rocket when in the Johto region. So when they make a come back that Grunt is the actual head instead of Giovanni. Same rules apply for the champion who replaced Lance and who you have to battle in the Johto region instead of Lance. (The team will be set against the starter you choose once me and whoever wants to help put this together choose)

Now at this point you either choose to work under the guy who you just were on the Evil story, or you are just starting your Pokémon journey and you are trying to become champion. Same rules apply where there are different starters and the same type of game as the Kanto version was and the same rules apply where if you choose Evil and you are going to basically make a team for your leader to use and battle you for the top spot of team rocket. However, after you beat the new leader instead of taking over you help the Boy or Girl destroy the remainder of team rocket which at that point the Evil story will then go into a sneak preview of the next game when you are on either Team Magma or Team Aqua and you are on your first mission. While the Good story goes on and battles the E4 and the champion.

Deadend136 : This sounds like an interesting hack. At first, I thought there would barely be competitors for the Pokemon ROM contest. By December, the competition will be PACKED. I will really have to check this out!

By all means if you want to steal the idea you can. I personally have absolutely no experience with creating games period so to me I would actually need a team just to help me figure out what exactly would work and what would not work, not to mention all the hours it would take to actually make this game come to life which considering all the hacks I have played so far seems that it takes quite a few months even to create a beta. If you do decide to take this idea which I would not mind as long as I am on the team that thinks up more ideas and such you can also I would like credit for the actual idea since this is more of a rough draft that I have many ideas to add to this summary/break down of the storyline I would like to create.

This sounds too involved for a hack. I don't think it can be pulled off. Try making it in like RPG Maker XP or something. Course you need to be good with coding for that.

If you really want to go on with this, I can help with the story/plot. I have a bunch of ideas that may be useful.

All in all, how long do you think it will take?

I would think that a hack of all the Pokemon games would work. What I mean is that if you put the games all together into one big game. For example, you start in Kanto or Hoenn as the starting regions (check the Pokemon time line to understand) and then one you're done, do the other one. Choices will be Red/Blue/Yellow/Fire Red/Leaf Green/Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald. Once you are done both games, you move to Gen 2. Unlike you would think, you can only start in Johto with Gold/Silver/Crystal/Heart Gold/Soul Silver first and then after catching the red Gyarados, you can continue, or go to Sinnoh with either Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. Maybe in between we could have Pokemon Colosseum, Coloseum 2, XD and Battle Revolution. Once you are done, you may finish off Gen 5 or have an online mode I don't know. Anyways that's my idea. This is my idea and for this post, I would chose good side.
