Well I suppose I should start off by saying that I found this place entirely by accident. It looked too good to be true, but I did some investigating and decided to sign up. Already have the RGR plug-in installed and I am ready to go! Yeeha!

More seriously: Over the past couple of years I find myself drawn more and more to old games and old systems, though seldom with the means to play them. Guess I am turning into a real retro gamer, which does feel natural to me since I have never been a big fan of the "latest and greatest" mentality. So imagine my happy surprise to find a website like Vizzed. I still find myself somewhat in shock over the sheer scale of the library here though.

I look forward to participating in this community and playing these great games.

Isn't it amazing Taisho?  I agree with you:  I've never been a big fan of what's "hip".  I'm so glad you found it here, and I'm sure you'll find plenty to do with the large library!    I know it's been keeping me busy for quite some time!

Singelli : Sadly I can't make some of my gaming buddies understand why I don't "go along to get along" with their hip games. I play Age of Empires I and II and perfectly happy with that and they laugh (to say nothing of what happens should the conversation turn to FPSes).

Taisho71421 :  The only avid gamer I know in real life is my husband, and he plays ALL sorts of games.  For that reason, I'm lucky enough that he doesn't mock me for my tastes.  *laughs*

And hey, I LOVE games like Age of Empires and Rise of Nations.  They're the games I can spend a few hours on before I get bored.  My husband doesn't have the SAME passion for them than I do, unless we're battling each other.  LOL

I've never been a huge fan of FPSes though.  That's his forte.

And thanks about the comment on my picture and verse.    Davideo, the owner of this site, is also Christian... and there's even a Christian area on the forum board!  My biggest passion in life is having a relationship with Christ, and the verse I posted is what led me towards Christ my whole life.  It's a very special verse and close to my heart.

I see we're also both 25.  How amazing is that?

I have depended on that verse so many times in my life. As for the age thing: Yeah that is totally amazing.

Oldschool: Oh, I don't mind the question. I have played AOE 3, and it is fun, but it is not as enjoyable to me as the first two. Especially the second, that game is probably my favorite out of the whole series.

That's a very nice and comforting verse indeed.  t reminds me of the verse which reminds us that God knows even the number of hairs on our head.

TheNameWithNoNumbers : You better believe I have the expansion pack (there was only one, to my knowledge) to AOE II. I have more hours on The Conquerors then any other strategy game I own.

If you are looking for some other strategy games, the Command and Conquer: Generals game and it's Expansion Pack is REALLY good, especially with some good Mods installed.

TheNameWithNoNumbers : Yep! The Conquerors was certainly memorable. I have Generals and Zero Hour too, and I know what you are talking about in regards to mods. I liked Shockwave the last time I tried it.
