What should Obama do?

Greece is in meltdown, the Euro-zone in turmoil.

Spain is in decline.

So what should Obama do,

We are in the states, and have a financial firewall.

Should we have our money in Santander?

This is a worry, I am worried.

Leaders are meeting at the G8

What chance are there of them meeting any universal agreement.

It will be an informal animated debate within Camp David not the formality of the White House, but what are their fiscal policies?

Obama has met with the French leader about Fiscal Consolidation coupled with a strong growth agenda.

and then after discussing Southern Europe they will be going onto Chicago for the next meeting.

Should we be concerned?

you cant 'firewall' europe. About half of us exports are to europe, so your completely tied in.
Like the ecb said when us representatives kept attacking europes policys, this never started in europe, it started in america.

In all honesty, I really don't think America should be concerning itself with other nation's problems when the financial and economical issues we have at home are beginning to accumulate and become too much to handle. America needs to stop butting in on the business of the rest of the world. We need to stop bailing out anyone and everyone that finds themselves in dire straights. You know what happens to the guy that keeps lending his friends money every time they ask? He runs out of money and starts asking for handouts himself. It may sound harsh, put let Greece and Spain deal with their our problems. We have too many of our own these days.

Last I checked there was never any talk of us bailing out the Euro-Zone so I don't even know why that was mentioned. The most Obama should and could do is maybe make some helpful suggestions and provide another opinion to the discussion. It looks good to help your allies out.

Also, with a global economy like we have, if we don't try to help figure out how to stop the downward spiral with our trading partners, we will continue to struggle in our own recovery. Basics of economics... if you're trading partner doesn't have the money to trade with you... you make no money. This has been part of foreign policy for almost the entire history of our nation, so don't act annoyed or shocked.
