Little Samson is a platformer game on the NES, that is widely unknown, or forgotten.
It's a lot like Mega-Man, in my opinion, but not a clone. In the game, you play as Samson, a ninja kid who can climb on walls and ceilings and throws projectiles at his enemies. Throughout the game you will meet other characters to play as, including a dragon, a golem, and a mouse. Each have their own unique abilities: The mouse can fit in tight spaces, the dragon can hover/fly, and the golem can walk on spikes, etc. There are lots of levels in this game, and two modes to play in, easy and normal. The bosses in this game are unique, and very challenging.
The Gameplay in Little Samson is incredible. It's a side-scroller platformer with 4 different characters you can control and switch between at any point in a level. (after the first 4 levels) Sometimes you may need to control the mouse to fit through small spaces, or maybe you'll need the dragon to fly over pits. Each character has their own type of weapon, unique and useful in different scenarios.
The music and graphics are very well done. This was one of the last games released for the NES, and thus is an expensive game to try to add to your collection. Thankfully for those of you that don't own a copy....YOU CAN PLAY IT HERE!
The lack of any sort of story seems strange, but you don't need a story for a platformer to be good.
I will also point out for people that complain about difficulty on NES games, this game has very few checkpoints(if any) so if you die, you go back to the very start of the stage.
I highly suggest you check it out, and post what you thought of it here!
